Mobile art studio for children

From 2019, we provide assistance to children who have been removed from dangerous conditions.
After all, after being removed, they are placed in a hospital, where they undergo a medical examination by doctors and wait for further actions by social services to protect their rights and introduce legal actions against their parents. Children's stay in hospital is limited in time, but sometimes, when there are legal difficulties, children can stay in hospital for several months.
Without the opportunity to study or walk on the street, to communicate with someone from friends or relatives.

Reduction of negative risks of long-term social isolation, with the formation of skills of self-help and emotional self-regulation, psychological support.

Goal of the project:

576 hours of art therapy classes were held for 120 children and adolescents in two hospitals in Kharkiv.

Project results:

The main reason is a threat to the life, safety or health of the child. The most common reasons for which child is separated from his parents are the following:

• the child has been sexually, physically or mentally abused;
• parents cannot provide the child with proper living conditions - food, clothes for the season, the opportunity to attend school;
• alcoholism or drug addiction of parents;
• abuse of power by the child's adult relatives (for example, children are forced to beg, steal, engage in prostitution, etc.).

Why are children removed from the family?

- Social and educational support of children through art therapy helps to reduce the psychological suffering of the child or adolescent, "meet" their fears and experiences in a safe way, and then overcome them.

 - Organization of holidays, involvement of volunteers, animators to create conditions for overcoming social isolation and stabilization of emotional state;  restoration of children's resources;

- Involvement of volunteers, students and specialists for partial organization of the educational process and reduction of educational neglect.
